AEW Star MJF Reacts After Fans Claim He Broke Character in the Ring

AEW World Champion MJF has responded after a fan claimed he recently broke character during a match.

MJF is known for always staying in character, whether he is in the ring or interacting with fans. He rarely drops his persona, which is why many fans were surprised by what they thought they saw following his recent AEW World title match.

A few weeks ago on AEW Dynamite, Brody King dominated him in an AEW World Title Eliminator Match. That loss led to a world title match at AEW Grand Slam Australia. This time, MJF successfully defended his AEW World title against King. He retained the title with the victory.

During the closing moments of the match, King tried to choke MJF against the ring post. He fought back by attacking King’s knee. He then dropped him back-first onto the hardest part of the ring. MJF rolled King back inside and hit the Heatseeker to secure the win to retain his AEW World title.

After the match, cameras caught MJF whispering something into King’s ear. Fans quickly speculated that he broke character and thanked King for the match. Fan wrote, “Watching this again MJF broke character and from what I saw he said thank you Brody in the ring Massive respect to MJF.”

However, he shut down those claims in typical fashion. Responding to a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter. He wrote, “LOL. I literally said “you’re a pussy eat this L.” But go off I guess.” Now, the AEW World Champion faces another major challenge. At AEW Grand Slam Australia, Hangman Adam Page defeated Andrade El Idolo to become the number one contender.

MJF and Hangman are now set to clash for the AEW World Championship at AEW Revolution on March 15.
