Daria Rae Says Former WWE Star ‘Hasn’t Even Scratched The Surface Yet’

Daria Rae heaps praise on fellow former WWE star Elayna Black.

During TNA Wrestling‘s debut on AMC, Director of Authority Santino Marella unveiled Daria Rae (formerly known as WWE’s Sonya Deville) as the newest member of TNA’s on-screen management team. As her first official order of business, Rae then announced the signing of Elayna Black, previously known to fans as WWE NXT star Cora Jade.

According to Rae, Black presents a promise that could make a real statement in the TNA Knockouts division.

“I just wanted to bring her out and introduce her to the crowd, but I think she’s incredible,” Rae told WrestleZone. “I brought her in for a reason. She is passionate, she loves this business, she has a great look, she’s great in the ring. I think she has charisma. I think she has an ‘it’ factor, and I think she’s gonna add a lot to the division that already is amazing.”

“So I think she’s one definitely to look out for this year, and I think she’s gonna do great things. I think she is just getting started. I don’t even know that she’s scratched the surface on what she can do.”

Rae Is Looking Forward To Learning & Teaching In TNA

Regarding her own potential in TNA, Rae feels that she can lend guidance to some of the promotion’s up-and-coming talents. At the same time, Rae admits that she too can learn much from the various veterans in the locker room.

“There’s definitely people there that have an insane amount of experience, both previously with WWE as well,” Rae said. “So there’s a mix of the old guard and the new guard, and so, there is a little mix of everything. But I’m always there to help in any way that I can. Even if it’s just by being in certain segments or helping create segments, or any advice anyone could possibly want. I’m open to that, of course, and I’m there for that.”

“But there’s also so much that the people that are there in TNA can teach me about what they’ve been doing. It’s a different product, and it’s a different energy, and a different pace. So I feel like it can be mutually beneficial in a lot of ways.”

So far, Rae’s TNA experience has been nothing but positive. Backstage staff, such as Delirious and Tommy Dreamer, have been especially open-minded to her creative ideas. In return, Rae says they’ve brought forth their own “amazing” ideas as well.

“I think all of us, like when we’re developing our characters, we know our character to an extent more than anybody else could, because it’s us, right? So being able to have that voice here and have those opinions and have those conversations is great for me,” Rae said. “I love that; I love being a part. I have a lot of ideas, some good, some bad, but it’s cool to be able to just have the voice and the platform to voice them.”
