Ashley Cooke played the game in MSG.
Like many fans in attendance, country singer Ashley Cooke felt the buzzing energy as WWE hosted Raw inside “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” Madison Square Garden, on November 17. For Cooke, her outing was made even more special as she got to personally meet a number of notable WWE figures, including John Cena, Maxxine Dupri, and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, backstage as well.
Speaking with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Cooke opened up about her encounter with Triple H, who later promoted her latest project, Ace, on social media.
“Oh, he’s so cool. He’s so real,” she said. “We sat and walked around the arena just talking about music and our mutual friends and all of what he’s built. It was just really cool. Again, it felt like I had known these people for a lot longer than I had. I met them for a night, and it felt like I was a part of the family in every way. He was so supportive and asking about my music and my career and kind of how I got to where I am. It was cool to get to talk to him.
“I feel like these big dudes that are in the ring when they get talking to you and they’re like, ‘How are you? How’s your life?’ I’m like, ‘You’re so nice.’ You would never expect it, but they’re so kind. It was just a really, really cool experience.”
Ashley Cooke Further Reflects On Her WWE Experience
Admittedly, Cooke is a new fan to WWE, with WWE Raw in MSG marking her first ever live wrestling event. Still, she found herself fully enamored by the company, both behind-the-scenes and as a spectator in the audience.
“Before the match, I got to walk around and look at everything going on. It was cool to just see how they prepare for the night,” she said. “There was just a lot of really cool behind-the-scenes stuff that I got to see before I even saw the real show happen. It was special. And that was so cool, just to see the acting skills that they have too is so impressive.
“I mean, the whole crowd, they’re roaring and every word that they say, they’re hanging on to. It was just really, really cool to see such a different facet of entertainment than what I’m used to witnessing, seeing. It was special, and I felt like it was a moment that I got to be a part of that I will never forget.”
On this particular edition of Raw, 17-time world champion John Cena wrestled his final match inside MSG. Elsewhere, Maxxine Dupri dethroned Becky Lynch as WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, thanks to help from AJ Lee.
