Gunther Does The 6-7 Meme During WWE Live Event

Gunther probably doesn’t like 6-7, but he isn’t shy about mocking his opponents.

You’ve probably heard of the 6-7 meme. Kids think it’s hilarious and say it constantly. There’s a hand gesture that goes along with it, too. Dictionary.com even declared 6-7 as its Word of the Year in 2025.

The 6-7 meme originated from a lyric in Philadelphia rapper Skrilla’s song “Doot Doot (6 7)”. It has become so popular that it’s been featured as an emote in the Clash Royale video game, and it’s also seeped its way into pro wrestling culture.

Je’Von Evans has made it part of his gimmick, even getting WWE merchandise featuring the number. Evans performed the taunt during his live event match against Gunther in Tampa on Saturday night.

As seen in the video below, Evans did the gesture before hitting the ropes, attempting to splash Gunther on the floor. Gunther countered the move, slamming Evans into the ring apron before chopping the life out of him. Adding insult to injury, Gunther then did the 6-7 meme gesture to mock Evans, who was on the floor.

Gunther continues to be one of WWE’s top stars

Gunther has been on a roll as of late, as he retired Goldberg this summer. He also won WWE’s The Last Time Is Now tournament to earn the right to face John Cena in his retirement match. The Ring General defeated John Cena in his last match, forcing him to submit at Saturday Night’s Main Event this month.

When asked if he had another soon-to-be-retired WWE Superstar, AJ Styles, in his sights, Gunther mocked Styles while answering, calling him a “Cruiserweight.”

“I don’t really have a list, but AJ? Yeah,” Gunther said. “I’ve never wrestled AJ before, and I think it would be a great one. AJ is definitely one of the best cruiserweight wrestlers in TNA history. So, we shall see.” [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
