Bayley’s John Cena tribute almost didn’t happen.
Former Women’s Champion Bayley was one of the top main roster superstars to have an exhibition match against up-and-coming talent at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. She wanted to pay tribute to John Cena, who had his retirement match that night, with her in-ring gear.
However, the gear was not delivered to her on time due to bad weather conditions. So, she had to send an urgent message to WWE seamstress Lori Gassie and give her the color pattern (black and red), “asking for a miracle.” The seamstress delivered on time with what Bayley wore at SNME, which was a tribute to the gear John Cena wore when he made his WWE debut against Kurt Angle. Following the event, The Role Model took to X/Twitter to shower some praise on Gassie and her team.
“My original gear got stuck in some bad weather, so I text our seamstress team Friday morning asking for a miracle. Lori here MADE THIS GEAR FOR ME IN 24 HOURS. I gave her the colors and she got to work ❤️That is a TRUE superstar. Thank you @nogimmickgear !!! #NeverGiveUp,” Bayley posted.
Neither Bayley nor John Cena was victorious in their respective matches at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Role Model lost to Sol Ruca in their exhibition match, while Cena tapped out to Gunther.
Bayley Got Dumped For Constantly Talking About Matt Hardy
During her recent appearance on the Six Feet Under podcast, Bayley recalled getting dumped by her high school boyfriend for constantly talking about Matt Hardy.
“I dated a guy in high school, and this was when Matt Hardy had gotten released, and he had worked the home promotion that I ended up training at. So, he was on the show, and so, I got to meet, like, The Hardys were my favorite.
“So, I got to meet him, and it was all I talked about. I was 15 years old, and it was all I was talking about to this guy, and I didn’t even realize it. He ended up dumping me because he was like, ‘Dude, all you talk about is Matt Hardy,’ and I was so embarrassed,” Bayley said.
