Seth Rollins wasn’t a fan of WWE: Unreal.
During a recent interview with comedian Bert Kreischer on Something’s Burning, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins shared his thoughts on fans having strong opinions on pro wrestling shows.
While he said companies don’t agree with everything the fans post online, Seth Rollins did say that sometimes they do consider their feelings, citing the recent R-Truth contract situation as an example.
“A good example of this is, I would say, there’s a couple of them,” Seth Rollins began. “One was the recent R-Truth situation, where R-Truth’s contract didn’t get negotiated, and it got leaked online that he had been released. The fans went, ‘What the fu**! We love R-Truth! What are we doing here? We need R-Truth, everybody needs an R-Truth,’ and it got to the point where the executives in WWE said, ‘You know what? They’re right, we do need R-Truth, we were wrong.'”
Seth Rollins Believes WWE: Unreal Took The Magic Out Of The Business
Speaking further, Bert Kreischer brought up the WWE: Unreal documentary series. He said that he loved the series, but doesn’t believe it should’ve been done.
Becky Lynch chimed in and said, “That’s it, we’ve talked about this. When we were fans, we would’ve loved to have seen it.
Seth Rollins continued, “Yeah, but I hate it. I do hate it. I don’t hate all of it. Look, there’s some parts of it that I think are fascinating and interesting, but I go like, ‘There’s some things in our business, everybody knows what it is, everybody knows it’s pre-determined and planned, but the grey area, that one little question that, like, maybe they really don’t like each other, maybe there’s something there, what could happen?
“That unpredictability that it creates, that’s the magic, that’s where the magic happens in our business. It’s that little seed of doubt, and when you start to just chip away at that, it becomes a bit tricky.”
