Sol Ruca’s North American Championship match on WWE NXT Gold Rush ended in chaos after Zaria threw in the towel, costing Sol the match.
Before the match, Zaria tried to talk Sol Ruca out of competing for the title against Blake Monroe. She asked Sol if she was sure about wrestling while still hurt. Ruca insisted she needed to win her title. Even though she wasn’t at full strength and wore a knee brace, Ruca fought hard and came close to winning the title again.
In the final moments, Blake Monroe trapped Sol Ruca in a Calf Crusher. Panicking, Zaria rushed to ringside and grabbed a towel. Sol told her not to throw it, but Zaria couldn’t stay calm. She threw the towel anyway, and the referee immediately stopped the match, giving Monroe the win retaining her North American title.
After the loss, Sol Ruca confronted Zaria backstage and said she was going to beat Blake Monroe. However, Zaria argued that she wasn’t going to make it to the ropes and she didn’t want to watch Sol’s leg get broken and force her out for a year.
Zaria asked if caring made her the bad guy and suggested they talk later, but Sol walked away. After their heated exchange, Zaria tried to defend herself on X, formerly known as Twitter, posting that caring was apparently her mistake, along with a crying Lisa Simpson GIF.
She wrote, ” Yeah yeah my bad for caring @SolRucaWWE.” Sol Ruca replied with only a middle-finger emoji and a picture of a wet, irritated cat wrapped in a towel.
