Athena Comments On Tony Khan’s Plans For All-Women AEW Show

Athena recently revealed that AEW President Tony Khan has thought about doing an all-women’s event for some time.

During an interview with WFAA, Athena was asked if AEW or Ring of Honor had ever discussed hosting a women-only show. She confirmed that Tony Khan has definitely considered the idea but said it’s all about finding the right time to make it happen.

She said, “I know TK has absolutely thought about that. I think it’s just about timing when it comes to those things. And he’s been very open about it. We have the best roster in the world. I know everyone says it, but we actually do have the best roster in the world… we have a very stacked roster and we have a lot of eager women.”

She added that AEW is taking small steps to build up its women’s division and make sure every wrestler is well established before doing a show. “I know it’s something that TK has in mind, especially with the tag team tournament. I just think we have to have baby steps and establish people more to get there. But, yes, I do know that that is on his brain, and it has been on his brain since I have been in AEW. So I know it’s just about timing.”

Tony Khan is already planning an all-women’s AEW event and has started taking steps toward making it happen. The first-ever Women’s Blood & Guts match is scheduled for November 12, 2025, at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
