WWE Teasing Angle Between Becky Lynch And Referee

It seems like WWE is teasing a potential angle between Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch and a referee.

Jessika Carr was the referee in Becky Lynch’s last three matches, including her two outings against Maxxine Dupri. Lynch lost the first match via countout and then got disqualified in the second on the latest episode of Raw, when she hit Dupri with the title belt. However, Lynch is attempting to shift all the blame to Carr.

Becky Lynch posted a video on her Instagram, accusing Jessika Carr of failing to disqualify Maxxine Durpi for using an illegal maneuver.

“In the match, clear as day, everybody saw it. Maxxine closed-fist punch to my face, an illegal maneuver. Jessika Carr should have disqualified her. What’s more, an illegal maneuver with an illegal object. I verified this through experts, through nail technicians. They have verified that the nails that Maxxine Dupri was wearing would cause intense damage to the lip.” [H/T f4wonline]

Jessika Carr has now reacted to Becky Lynch’s claims on X/Twitter, without actually naming the reigning Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

“I don’t say a lot or stir up issues….but it’s wild that someone keeps talking about me….when all they’ve been doing is tapping out, getting counted out, and taking the easy way out by getting disqualified. But I’m the problem?“

Could This Angle Lead To A Match Between Becky Lynch And Jessika Carr?

It’s unclear if WWE intends to use this angle to build up a potential match between Becky Lynch and Jessika Carr. But if that is the case, Carr is no stranger to in-ring competition.

Before signing on to become a WWE referee in 2017, Jessika Carr wrestled in the independent circuit under the name Kennadi Brink.

While she still hasn’t competed in a match on the WWE main roster television, she put on her wrestling boots on two occasions earlier this year on WWE Evolve, wearing a mask and going under the name Kalyx.
