The Sandman is a former ECW and WWE star, and despite his popularity, the veteran recently disclosed why he’s not under a WWE legends deal.
The Sandman is best known for his run in WWE, TNA, and ECW, and is widely regarded as a ‘Hardcore Icon’ in the history of professional wrestling. During a recent conversation with The Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, Sandman revealed the reason why he hasn’t signed a legends deal with WWE.
The veteran noted that nobody has ever said a good thing about a legend’s deal. Despite WWE offering him one, this is a primary reason why he isn’t under a legend’s deal with WWE.
“No, I don’t. No, they asked. I was like, no legends deal,” he explained (H/T: Fightful) “Well, because nobody ever said a good thing about a legends deal. I never heard one person say a good thing about them signing a legends deal.”
Over the past few years, The Sandman has made notable cameo appearances in different companies. According to Cagematch, his last competition in the ring was on March 9, 2025, at ACW Nothing But A Good Time Battle Royal, where he emerged as the winner.
Though The Sandman doesn’t have a WWE legends deal, a former Intercontinental Champion has signed a new legends deal with WWE this year.
