Sammy Guevara asked AEW legend Sting to come out of retirement.
At ROH Death Before Dishonor, Sammy Guevara faced a tough situation when his tag team partner, Dustin Rhodes, couldn’t compete due to double knee replacement surgery. This left Guevara without a partner to defend the ROH World Tag Team Titles at the show.
On his vlog before ROH Death Before Dishonor, Sammy Guevara tried to recruit Sting, who also appeared in the video, to be his tag team partner. He said, “Okay, I really need a partner for Ring of Honor, I can’t think of a better partner than The Stinger. Sting, can you be my partner so we can go win some tag team gold?”
Sting reminded Sammy Guevara that he was retired. However, Guevara asked, “But what if you came out of retirement?” The WWE Hall of Famer playfully smiled and said, “Well, we’d probably win, but that’s a whole other topic.”
During his four year run in AEW, Sting had a dominant run in the company. He officially retired last year at AEW Revolution, teaming with Darby Allin to defeat The Young Bucks. During his AEW run, The Icon competed 29 times and remained undefeated in every tag team match.
Meanwhile, Sammy Guevara, who was left without a tag team partner, teamed up with Rush. Together, they successfully retained the titles at ROH Death Before Dishonor.
