Tony Khan would love to work with Chris Jericho in AEW again. However, it remains to be seen if that happens.
Jericho has not wrestled since the AEW Dynasty on April 6, where he lost the ROH World title to Bandido. A few days later on AEW Dynamite, Jericho walked out on the Learning Tree’s Big Bill and Bryan Keith. This effectively wrote him off of TV, since he has not been back since then.
Jericho is still reportedly under contract with AEW through December 2025. However, it has been heavily speculated that he could be eyeing a return to WWE. Jericho admitted he was open to it under the right circumstances, and many in both AEW and WWE believe it’s going to happen when Jericho is free to do so.
Tony Khan holds Chris Jericho in high regard
During the ROH Death Before Dishonor media call, Tony Khan was asked about Jericho’s current status. Khan praised Jericho and said that he wouldn’t be where he is without Chris Jericho. Khan said Jericho is in the “highest standing” with everyone at AEW and ROH. He also hopes there’s an opportunity to work together again.
“When you talk about him, you could talk about companies all over the world. But certainly, we wouldn’t be able to be as fortunate to be in this position. I would never be where I am in AEW without Chris Jericho, nor would we be in a position where I bought ROH. So I am very grateful to Chris, I think the world of Chris, and I would love to have Chris back and certainly, he’s been a great, great star for us since the very beginning of AEW and then here in ROH as well.
Khan said he could talk for days about great Chris Jericho memories, and has so much respect for him and “thinks the world” of him.
“I’m very fortunate to work with him. So if and when the time presents itself, hopefully, [I’d] love to have Chris back. I think the world of him. Chris Jericho is always in the highest of standing with me and with AEW and ROH where he has been a great champion, a great ambassador, a great leader and a great friend to all of us.”
Jericho has largely been silent on social media, but posted the following on Twitter/X on Wednesday morning:
