It’s clear that R-Truth has had a roller coaster of emotions regarding his childhood hero, John Cena, in WWE this year.
WWE Superstar R-Truth recently sat down with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed. When asked about his recent return to SmackDown that saw him in a memorable backstage segment with John Cena, Truth said the entire segment felt organic and loves the fact that their short segment was one of the most talked about things on Friday’s show.
“It was so organic,” R-Truth said. “That’s why it came across that way. You could feel it. The proof is in the pudding. For just over a minute promo to be one of the biggest takeaways from the show, come on, I love that. John is the G.O.A.T. in my eyes. Not only is he my childhood hero, I’ve learned a lot from being in the ring with him–and I’ve learned a lot from him in the back.”
This was Truth’s first appearance on WWE programming in almost a month. It will be interesting to see what the company’s plans are for him moving forward.
