Brock Lesnar returned to WWE on Sunday evening at SummerSlam in a move that no one saw coming.
In the closing minutes of Sunday’s premium live event, Lesnar made his return to the company. The Beast hit John Cena with an F-5 to close the show.
How did this return come together? And what’s next for The Beast Incarnate?
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), it’s believed that Lesnar was flown into Minnesota and then to Teterboro private on Saturday. WWE then made sure that Lesnar was hidden throughout Sunday.
Lesnar came out of hiding and appeared backstage around 9:15 PM ET. This would be while the main event between John Cena and Cody Rhodes was ongoing. While not confirmed, based on the finish of SummerSlam, it appears that Lesnar will be another one of Cena’s farewell opponents on his retirement tour.
Sapp has reached out to a number of WWE executives and spokesmen for an official comment regarding Lesnar’s return, but has yet to hear back as of this writing.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
