Michelle McCool once tried to talk WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker into doing a photoshoot for ESPN’s Body Issue.
On a recent episode of the Six Feet Under podcast, The Deadman shared a funny story with his wife, Michelle McCool, and guest Charlotte Flair. He revealed that McCool once tried to talk him into posing nude for ESPN’s Body Issue years ago. For those unaware, The Body Issue was an annual edition of ESPN The Magazine that featured many athletes, including Charlotte Flair in 2018, in nude and semi-nude photographs.
The Undertaker: I gotta get to something, cuz she tried to talk me into this. You [Charlotte Flair] did the ESPN Body Issue?
Charlotte Flair: Yeah. And here, I made sure they had all the cameras covered too. I did. And I was like, ‘I’m not going in there naked without all those cameras covered.’
The Undertaker: And I totally get that, but this one was trying to convince me.
Michelle McCool: Years ago. Not now.
The Undertaker: Definitely. Not now.
Charlotte Flair jumped in and jokingly added: Why not? You and all the tats? You could just have the turnbuckle right there. wait, is that too much? I mean, no sir, but I can see it. Right? Well, I mean, I’m not gonna But Taker right there in front of the turnbuckle, just with the “W” logo. No? You go and flex with one side like this.
The Undertaker: When this gonna air people are going to cringe so hard. Why are we even are we talking about? That’s not my Undertaker.”
McCool: Because, I think you’re hot.
The Undertaker: They do not wanna see anything under the black.
McCool: But they’re seeing it now. But yes, back then, maybe not.
The Undertaker explains why he turned down the nude photo shoot
The Deadman revealed that Michelle McCool made a serious effort to convince him to do the ESPN Body Issue shoot, but he ultimately refused. Taker said McCool really tried hard to talk him into it, but said his character wouldn’t do it, and he was largely protective of it then.
Charlotte Flair: You turned it down?
The Undertaker: Yes, I turned it down.
McCool: See, he wouldn’t even do that for me, people think I get everything cuz of him. The one thing I asked him for, he shot down hard. I’m like, come on.
Flair: He’s probably like, ‘My character wouldn’t [Laugh] That’s all I have my character.’
Taker: Exactly
McCool: That’s exactly what he said.
Taker: That’s all I have is my character.
McCool said her husband would rather “walk around the house naked all the time,” but drew the line on doing it for a magazine. He said that thought was cringey enough in its own right, and McCool said he really doesn’t walk around the house naked.
Taker: Yeah, this has really, really digressed now.
Flair: I’m being the creative director.
Taker: My gosh, this is so disturbing.
