Triple H Comments on Goldberg’s Son Potentially Joining WWE

Triple H believes Goldberg’s son Gage could eventually step into a WWE ring.

Over the weekend, Goldberg competed in his retirement match against Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta, Georgia. During the match, Gunther removed Goldberg’s knee brace during the match, used it as a weapon, and taunted Gage, who was at ringside.

When Gage tried to retaliate, security quickly stepped in to defuse the situation. Despite Goldberg’s efforts, Gunther locked in a sleeper hold and made the Hall of Famer pass out, retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Gage, who currently aims to build a career in the NFL, made a surprise appearance during the match. Though focused on football, the Hall of Famer’s son Gage has called WWE his “backup plan” in past interviews.

At the WWE Evolution post-show press conference, Triple H confirmed that Gage has shown real interest in becoming a WWE Superstar if his NFL ambitions don’t pan out. The Game said, “He probably won’t be the last Goldberg in the business,” Triple H said. “I can see this sparkle in Gage’s eyes, and he’s been very clear about it – if the NFL doesn’t work out, here he comes. So we’ll see.” [H/T: PWMania]

Goldberg shares his thoughts on his son Gage potentially becoming a wrestle

In March, during an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Goldberg said he would support his son if he chose to pursue a career in WWE. “Yes, I’d let him do it,” he said. “If he looked me in the eye and had the conviction in his soul that that is what he was going to put 120% of his attitude and life towards, to be the best, I know he can do it. He can do anything he wants. Most people can do anything they want; they just have to put their minds to it and be willing to put in the work.

“That’s the problem with a lot of people now, they want shit for free, and they want it to be given to them, and they want respect to be given to them. You gotta work for it. I’d support him in anything he does, short of being a crack dealer or something. If the kid loves it, then he can do it. I’m completely behind it.”
