WWE Superstar CM Punk recently shared how he continues to honor his wife AJ Lee during his matches in a touching way.
Tattoos are a major part of CM Punk’s identity, symbolizing his straight-edge lifestyle, personal beliefs, and meaningful experiences. Among his most well-known ink are the words Straight Edge across his stomach, a Pepsi logo on his arm, and Drug Free across his knuckles.
In a new episode of WWE’s Tattooed series, CM Punk explained that he has his wife AJ Lee’s lips tattooed on his wrist, and he often gestures to it during matches as a subtle tribute to her. He said, “Well, I got my wife’s lips on my wrist. So a lot of times, if you see me in the ring and I do one of those [kisses his wrist]? Saying hi to my wife, that’s what I’m doing.”
He also revealed a paw print tattoo of his Dalmatian, honoring the pet after her passing on his arm. “I have my Dalmatian’s paw print after we had to put her down.” Additionally, the water-themed design on his left arm represents an inspirational quote from Bruce Lee.
“The Bruce Lee-inspired piece is all the water on my left arm. That was the sleeve idea that kind of tied some of the bigger pieces I had together. The water, because Bruce Lee famously says, ‘Be like water.’ That’s something that resonated with me. I try to live that. Sometimes I flow, sometimes I freeze, sometimes I crash, sometimes I’m still.”
