  • Paragon vs. The Don Callis Family
  • FTR vs. Daniel Garcia and Nigel McGuinness
  • The Buy In: Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs. Anna Jay and Harley Cameron

AEW Double or Nothing: The Buy In Results:

Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs. Anna Jay and Harley Cameron

  • The finish of the match saw Harley Cameron hit Penelope Ford with her Finishing Move to score the pinfall victory for her team.

Winners: Harley Cameron and Anna Jay

Grade: B+

What a fun opener! I did not see Bayne and Ford losing this match, so the result came as quite a surprise to me. These four have proven they can work very well together in recent weeks, and tonight they proved they can be very solid tag teams for a division to eventually include some championship titles.

RPG Vice and CRU vs. Bandido, AR Fox, Hologram, and Komander (w/ Alex Abrahantes)

  • The finish of the match saw Bandido hit Action Andretti with the 21Plex to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Bandido, AR Fox, Hologram, and Komander

Grade: A-

That was a wild match for a pre-show! All eight guys worked insanely hard to pump up the crowd before the pay-per-view starts, and I believe they succeeded. That was a ton of fun!

AEW Double or Nothing Results:

Women’s Owen Hart Cup Finals: Mercedes Moné vs. Jamie Hayter

  • The finish of the match saw Mercedes Moné hit Jamie Hayter with a DDT small package variation to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Mercedes Moné

Grade: A

A phenomenal way to kick off the pay-per-view. Mercedes and Jamie left it all in the ring tonight. That was an incredible matchup. Both of them should be very proud of the match they put on this evening.

FTR (w/ Stokely Hathaway) vs. Nigel McGuinness and Daniel Garcia (w/ Daddy Magic)

  • The finish of the match saw Dax Harwood lock Daniel Garcia in the Sharpshooter, who eventually passed out from the maneuver.

Winners: FTR

Grade: B+

Damn good match. Perhaps went a hint too long for my liking, but you can’t deny that this was excellent tag team wrestling. All eyes now shift focus to All In because if the rumored match between FTR and Adam Copeland and Christian Cage takes place, I can’t wait to see what story is told to reunite that team.

Stretcher Match: Ricochet vs. Mark Briscoe

  • The finish of the match saw Ricochet hit Mark Briscoe with a Spirit Gun in order to toss him into the ambulance on the stretcher.

Winner: Ricochet

Grade: A-

I truthfully wasn’t expecting a ton from this match, but I really enjoyed it. These two went crazy in this bloody match and definitely gave the audience a small taste of what to expect from Anarchy in the Arena later on. Great stuff from both men!

AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Hurt Syndicate (c) (w/ MVP & MJF ) vs. Sons of Texas

  • The finish of the match saw Shelton Benjamin hit Sammy Guevara with a thrust kick to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: And still AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Hurt Syndicate

Grade: B

I love The Hurt Syndicate, but I just couldn’t get into this match. It was fine. There was nothing wrong with it, but it was certainly what some would describe as a cool-down match following that stretcher match we just had.

AEW Continental Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Speedball Mike Bailey

  • The finish of the match saw Kazuchika Okada hit Speedball Mike Bailey with —

Winner: And still Continental Champion, Kazuchika Okada

Grade: A+

WOW!!! That was my match of the night so far. I also think that was Okada’s best match in AEW so far. Speedball forced him to take things to another gear, and this match really shined because of it. I loved that match!

AEW Women’s World Championship: Timeless Toni Storm (c) (w/ Luther) vs. Mina Shirakawa

  • The finish of the match saw Toni Storm hit Mina Shirakawa with Storm Zero to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still Women’s Champion, Toni Storm

Grade: A-

I think that was Mina’s best match in AEW so far. These two had an excellent match together. Shirakawa has a bright future in this company. Storm, on the other hand, moves on to face Mercedes at All In for the title.

Anarchy in the Arena: Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Willow Nightingale vs. Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, the Young Bucks, and Marina Shafir

  • The finish of the match saw Kenny Omega hit Matt Jackson with a One Winged Angel off the stage through an exploding table while Swerve Strickland hit the Swerve Stomp on Nick Jackson in the ring with a pair of his new sneakers lined with thumb tacks. Strickland gets the pinfall victory over Nick for his team.

Winners: Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Willow Nightingale

Grade: A+

Easily one of the best Anarchy in the Arena matches ever. If you love these types of matches, there’s no way you didn’t enjoy it. If it’s not your type of thing, I get it. But damnit, I loved the hell out of this. Greatness personified! Go out your way to watch this madness!

Paragon vs. The Don Callis Family

  • The finish of the match saw Kyle Fletcher hit the Sheerdrop Brainbuster on Kyle O’Reilly to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: The Don Callis Family

After the match, The Don Callis Family attack Paragon. This brings out Brody King, Tomohiro Ishii, and Hiroshi Tanahashi to even the odds and send The Don Callis Family packing.

Grade: B+

Following Anarchy in the Arena, this match was way better than it had any right to be. The crowd still reacted, which surprised me because I thought they’d be spent after the previous match. This was a good trios match. It could have been on Dynamite, but I get the placement of this match in the show as a buffer between Anarchy in the Arena and the main event. Now it’s time for the AEW Double or Nothing main event!

Men’s Owen Hart Cup Finals: Will Ospreay vs. Hangman Page

  • The finish of the match saw Hangman Page hit Will Ospreay with the Buckshot Lariat to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Hangman Page

After the match, Page and Ospreay shake hands in a show of respect.

Grade: A+

AEW Double or Nothing Review:

What a great show from AEW tonight. I’m sure it went too long for some people’s taste, but I enjoyed this show from top to bottom. We had several excellent matches tonight and a lot of great moments I won’t soon forget. Bring on All In: Texas!

Grade: A
