Jeff Jarrett Comments On Potential WCW Revival On Netflix

Jeff Jarrett thinks that a WCW revival on Netflix is something WWE could hit out of the park.

The former wrestling promotion has been in the public consciousness recently. The success of the “Who Killed WCW?” documentary series has seen renewed interest in the company, which was bought by WWE in 2001.

It has rarely been mentioned by the WWE since the failed “Invasion” angle in 2001, with them seemingly happy to forget about WCW. However, the recent documentary has drawn suggestions that the company could revive WCW once WWE begins its broadcast deal with Netflix in 2025.

Jeff Jarrett talked on the “My World” podcast (H/T to WrestlingInc) about the possibility of a WCW revival. He said that it could be done, and that they could “hit it out of the park” if done correctly.

However, the former WCW Champion had some issues with the idea. He noted that, outside the NWO, WCW merchandise does very little sales for the WWE. He doesn’t see much value in the IP, but thinks the WWE could make it work if done right.

“It could be done.” Jeff Jarrett said. “[But] the reality is that we are 23 years removed from the brand being on television. The NWO still sells a boatload of merchandise, but WCW hasn’t sold, to my knowledge, much of anything. A couple of retro shirts here and there or something to that effect. I just don’t see a tremendous value there. But with that being said, you own the IP, you own the library, and you have the ability to have multiple connective tissue… so could it work with a focused effort? I think you could hit it out of the park.”
