One former NXT Champion turned to another for advice on the July 16th episode of WWE NXT.
In a backstage segment on the July 16th episode of WWE NXT, Trick Williams was shown FaceTiming someone and talking about he didn’t recognize himself without the NXT Championship. He said that he had to get back to being himself and doing his own thing.
It was revealed that Williams was speaking to WWE RAW star Ilja Dragunov, the man he previously beat to win the NXT Championship. He said that Williams was on a journey of redemption. Dragunov looked back on the journey he had been on since he lost the title and stated that he sought to conquer new worlds. Williams said that he wanted his title back, and Dragunov admitted that they were dealing with two different situations.
Williams also tried to get advice from Pete Dunne, who brushed him off by telling him to figure it out.
