Chad Gable has been waiting for a chance. Now that he has it, he refuses to let it go to waste.
Speaking on Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Chad Gable discussed his perspective changing as he noted that he just wanted to have the best matches and do his art. He looked back on a time when he was sitting in the back without having anything to do.
“There’s been times where I show up and I don’t have anything to do, not even Shorty G,” Gable said. “And you’re kind of sitting backstage, and at that point, speaking to the play aspect, you’re like ‘Just let me be the guy standing in the background, just let me do anything. Let me be part of the show.’ And then, your perspective shifts when you get to different levels. And now I’m just like ‘Man, I just wanna do the best matches, and tell my art, and do my art in my matches, and do my art in my promos, and every night, and give me multiple segments.’
“But you gotta realize, we’ve got a roster of the most talented people on the planet. And it’s never more apparent then when you’re one of the guys, like I was for a while, sitting backstage with nothing to do, with some of those other guys doing the same thing. You’re looking at them going ‘Man, this guy is so talented. He’s got charisma through the roof, he’s physically one of the greatest athletes in the world, can do things no one else can do, and he’s just not doing anything tonight.'”
Chad Gable On His Current Run
Chad Gable continued by noting that, now that he had his chance, he was going to make it count.
“It’s a fight just to play your part to the best of your ability, whatever you’re given that night in the play, whatever role you’re given,” Chad Gable said. “And then, when you get the chance, in my case when you get these chances to be a more prominent role…you better deliver. Because everyone talks about ‘Man, if I could only get my chance. If I could only get my one chance.’
“I’ve been doing that for years, but now that I finally got it, I’m like ‘Well, trust me, I ain’t freaking wasting this one. We’re gonna make this one count.'”
