Jim Ross: Dustin Rhodes Is A WWE Hall of Famer, Without A Doubt

Jim Ross believes that Dustin Rhodes deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame.

The legendary wrestler is nearing the end of his career, having wrestled in five different decades since his debut in 1988. While he’s wrestled in multiple promotions, he found his greatest success as the iconic Goldust character in the WWE.

As Goldust, Dustin Rhodes won numerous titles, including the Intercontinental and Tag Team championships. He was involved in memorable storylines with legends like Razor Ramon and Booker T. Goldust had a career worthy of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

At least, that’s what Jim Ross thinks.

Jim Ross spoke on his “Grilling JR” podcast (thanks to WrestlingInc for the transcription) about Dustin Rhodes. He thinks the elder Rhodes does have a place in the WWE Hall of Fame. He said that he should be inducted “without a doubt”. However, he worries that due to his current AEW status, it may never happen.

He also notes how close he is to Dustin Rhodes. Jim Ross said he is proud of the former Goldust, saying that he wouldn’t be alive today if he didn’t kick his alcohol and drug issues.

“He’s a Hall of Famer, without a doubt. I wonder if he’ll ever be enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame. He deserves it but because of his relationship with Tony Khan and AEW, which is well deserved, it may never happen and that’s unfortunate. I feel close to him, I feel a kinship to him still today and it’s growing because I’m so proud of the fact that he’s not dependent on drugs and alcohol, [he] saved his life. There’s no way that Dustin would have been alive today if he had not made those changes.”

It seems like Dustin being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame is more of a “when” not “if.” His brother, Cody Rhodes, also believes Dustin is more than deserving of a HOF nod.
