Chase U will challenge for the gold at WWE NXT Heatwave.
A Tag Team Turmoil match on the June 25 episode of WWE NXT determined the challengers for the NXT Tag Team Championship at NXT Heatwave.
New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne) and Malik Blade and Edris Enofe started the bout. They went back and forth, and both teams showcased their tandem offense. Bate dove onto Blade at ringside, and Enofe nearly scored the win with a DDT. In the end, New Catch Republic pinned Blade to eliminate him.
Angel and Berto were the next entrants, and they took the fight to Bate and Dunne. The Legado del Fantasma duo took control by isolating Bate. Apollo Crews distracted Berto and Garza, and his distraction led to their elimination, as Bate hit a Tyler Driver.
Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson entered the match and quickly gained the upper hand. They controlled the action, but New Catch Republic rallied, and Dunne scored the elimination with an inside cradle.
Chase U (Andre Chase and Duke Hudson) were the final entrants, and they took the fight to New Catch Republic. Bate fired up by suplexing Hudson. Dunne rallied with a flurry of offense. Bate then dove outside, but Ridge Holland took the impact. In doing so, he helped Chase U score the win, as Andre Chase hit a crossbody to clinch the win.
With the victory, Chase U earned a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship. They will challenge Axiom and Nathan Frazer for the titles at NXT Heatwave on July 7.
