As of April 1st, 2024, former TNA World Champion Alex Shelley and his tag team partner Chris Sabin became free agents as their contracts with TNA Wrestling came to an end. Recently, Shelley shared reflected on his professional career.
Alex Shelley was interviewed by Mark O’Brien for Bodyslam.net. During the interview, Shelley mentioned that he and Sabin are always ready for new challenges. At the same time, they are grateful for their career so far.
“I wouldn’t say it’s dream matches necessarily. It’s more so just kind of like, we’re happy to tackle anything new. Where we’re coming from, in TNA, Sabin and I, we’ve done everything there is to do there. Everything to do. So it’s time for somebody else to step up and become the new Motor City Machine Guns for that company. For us, it’s time to be the Motor City Machine Guns somewhere else. Wherever that may be.
“And I just feel so fortunate to be able to for a living. To be totally honest with you, It doesn’t give a great answer to your question, but at the same time, again having the viewpoint that I have through my experiences and certainly working in medical, physical medicine, all of this can be taken away so quickly due to no fault of your own. You could be stopped at a stoplight and you get rear-ended and wrestling’s out the window. You might not be able to walk and I’ve seen so many people who just kill to have a single solitary pro wrestling match. They trained for years just to do that and they never hit that’s the business. So, honestly, just to be in the situation I’m in, I’m very very grateful,” Alex Shelley said.
Where will Shelley and Sabin go next?
