“King” Troi Anthoni was given some key advice by Seth Rollins.
The stylist has worked with a number of WWE Superstars on their outfits in recent years. He has made costumes for stars like Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, most recently for their marquee matches at WrestleMania 40.
Troi Anthoni spoke recently with Complex about the impact of social media on his work. He revealed that Seth Rollins told him to ignore social media comments, due to them bothering him so much.
“I’m very careful and there’s a lot of thought that goes into these looks because it’s like I’m fighting myself too. Is this going to be the look that’s going to be like, ‘Oh, what the fuck is he doing?’ The comments on Twitter and Instagram used to bother me, but Seth told me to stop looking at them because they’ve been doing this for years.”
“When you’re working with somebody of such a high caliber, it makes you go harder. This man doesn’t need a stylist because his gift is through the roof. Adding me to his wrestling legacy is crazy. It’s such a high honor for me to be working with someone like Seth.”
Little Richard Inspired Seth Rollins WrestleMania 39 Outfit
Troy Anthoni also spoke about his inspiration for creating an outfit for Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 39. He revealed that he struggled with the look, due to the death of his mother soon before.
He went on to say that Little Richard and Andre Leon Talley were his inspiration for creating Rollins’ look for the event.
“I did WrestleMania [39]. That was when I lost my mom. I just couldn’t even focus. I didn’t even know what to do but I was watching an interview with Little Richard and thought, ‘What would Little Richard wear to WrestleMania?’ Last year, they told me they were going to do a bubble coat and I thought how would I wear a bubble coat, which led to that piece he wore that has hints of Andre Leon Talley.”
