The following matches and segments are from the April 9, 2024 episode of TNA Xplosion.
The show opened with From The Vault, featuring The Wolves against Decay from the 2/16/16 episode of Impact Wrestling. This match was for the TNA World Tag Team Championships.
Next, Around The Ring saw Gia Miller speak with Chris Sabin. They discussed the band High Crusade, which was started by Sabin, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin.
Then, Xplosion showed an “In Case You Missed It” match. They replayed Alex Shelley vs Nic Nemeth from this week’s Impact. Nemeth won this match with “Danger Zone” (formerly Zig Zag).
Mike Bailey vs Ace Austin vs KUSHIDA
The main event of the show, and only original match, saw a huge triple threat match taking place. “Speedball” Mike Bailey faced Ace Austin and Japanese star KUSHIDA in a fantastic bout.
It was a fast-paced encounter, that saw some fun action from all three. The match saw an extended period with all three men in the ring, which you don’t usually get with most three-way matches in TNA.
No-one really dominated the match. They took turns being on top, with a flurry of kicks being handed out all around. It was a battle to stay on top, which made for an interesting and frantic match to watch.
The match was relatively short, coming in at less than ten minutes. KUSHIDA locked in an armbar on Ace Austin at the end of the match. Austin tapped out, much to the shock of Bailey. KUSHIDA won a fun match that did not overstay its welcome, and that is where TNA Xplosion ended this week.
