Piper Niven Provides Update On Her Hand Injury

Piper Niven provides an update on her hand injury.

In February, reports indicated that former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Piper Niven had sustained a hand injury. In a new interview with Gorilla Position, Niven shared more details on her injury, revealing that she broke her hand during a February 2024 training session.

“I broke my hand [while] training, trying to be a better performer,” Niven said. “So obviously, the universe was like, ‘No, no, no, you’re too good.’ They was like, ‘Hey bro, you can’t — come on, you gotta give everybody else a chance.’ So yeah, broke my hand, unfortunately … This happened the 7th of February. So, just over two months. Just over two months but it’s getting a little better. So, and now I have this gnarly little bone callus that I can’t wait to backfist people with. So yeah, that’s what I’ve been doing.”

Regarding her potential return to action, Niven confirmed that has not yet received clearance from WWE doctors. She is, however, hoping to be cleared “soon.”

Self-Improvement

Despite being sidelined, Niven also noted that this injury laid out an opportunity for her to better herself a performer.

“I’ve been out before, especially with COVID and stuff, but I never had any real injury and I kind of feel like this was a very necessary learning experience for me and so, even though I’ve been injured with a broken bone and rehabbing that and everything that comes with that, I have been doing so much work,” Niven said. “Inner work, ring work, learning about myself and my profession and honestly, I really think this was a necessary setback to be better as a performer. So I’m very, very excited to show everyone that when I get back.

Niven last wrestled in tag team competition on the February 5 taping of WWE Main Event in a losing effort to Natalya and Tegan Nox.
