Chelsea Green didn’t win, but she tried to leave with the award nonetheless.
Chelsea Green and Drew McIntyre were both nominated for the Slammy Award for Social Star of the Year. At the award ceremony on April 7, Chelsea Green came to the stage and prematurely accepted the award before McIntyre was announced as the winner. As McIntyre dedicated his win to CM Punk, Chelsea Green grabbed the award and ran away. McIntyre brushed it off and noted that he had two more at home.
Green then took to Twitter and noted that she was the victim of the “Slammy Screwjob”. The post included a picture in which McIntyre held the award, so it was clearly back in his possession.
McIntyre will challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 Night Two.
