A commercial featuring Hulk Hogan from 2017 has recently resurfaced online, and it is hilarious.
The advertisement celebrated 30 years of Centraal Beheer’s iconic ‘Just Call Us’ campaign. The Dutch company drafted in a WWE legend to help them do it, and he certainly went all in.
The advert, which was filmed in Hogan’s hometown of Clearwater Beach, Florida, and stars the WWE Hall of Famer as the selling point. A thief snatches a handbag from an unsuspecting woman, but he is quickly stopped by The Hulkster on a pier.
Hogan hits a tombstone piledriver on the thief, who appears shocked when his head doesn’t touch the floor. The WWE Hall of Famer then hits his famous leg drop, before a series of fake punches that clearly don’t make contact.
The advert ends with Hogan connecting with a splash onto the thief, who lies motionless on the pier. He is in shock at what happened, having not felt any pain from this supposed attack.
The commercial ends with Hogan celebrating with a cheering crowd. The thief simply grabs the purse and walks off, as Hulk Hogan is none the wiser. It is a clear tongue-in-cheek reference to the nature of wrestling, with the former WWE Champion happy to poke fun of himself.
This 2017 advert is likely the last time wrestling fans will see Hulk Hogan hit his famous leg drop. Numerous surgeries have left him struggling to walk. The chances of Hogan competing in the ring again seem impossible, and this could bet he last time we see him hitting the moves again.
Hogan admitted most of his injuries have come from hitting the leg drop, so he will want to avoid using the move in his old age.
Hulk Hogan Did Not Need To Get Squashed By Giants
Hulk Hogan spoke to Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated. He revealed that he could work with anyone in his prime, not needing to be squashed by giants in order to get the crowd on his side.
He also compliments Randy Orton and Roman Reigns, who he thinks also have that ability in the ring.
“I know I wrestled a lot of giants, and I enjoyed that too. But I also knew I didn’t need to get squashed by Earthquake to make the crowd respond. If Piper brought me down to one knee in the sleeper, we could make the place rumble. Nowadays, you see that in Roman’s matches. You see it with Randy Orton, too. There’s a feel for the crowd, and they have it. I think me and Ric would have had it there, too.”
