Chelsea Green suffered an embarrassing case of mistaken identity this week.
The WWE Star has been a constant presence in the WWE in recent months. She recently held the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Piper Niven. The Canadian has impressed since her return to the company at the 2023 Royal Rumble.
Despite appearing regularly on television, not everybody recognizes her. She recently revealed that she was kicked out of Fairmont’s The Plaza Hotel in New York. (Yes, that Plaza Hotel.)
The WWE Superstar was accused of being an escort, which she found incredibly assaulting.
The hotel allegedly kicked her out due to her outfit, which included a denim skirt, knee-length boots and a white top, allegedly making her look like an escort.
Chelsea Green posted about the incident on Twitter. She wrote:
“Man… one night you’re wrestling at Barclays Center, having the time of your life and the next you’re being kicked out of @FairmontHotels and accused of being an escort because of your outfit?? Life is funny! Maybe next year I won’t celebrate Wrestlemania weekend at The Plaza Hotel LOL…”
Chelsea Green Was Denied Entry To The Hotel Bar
The New York Post chased up the story and spoke to Chelsea Green about what happened.
They reported that the incident happened at around 5:45 pm that night, with Green attempting to enter the hotel bar with a friend of hers. She was denied entry due to her outfit, before another guest invited them in to get drinks. This further angered the staff, who were alleged to have insinuated that she was an escort based on how she looked that evening.
Chelsea Green spoke to management, but was escorted out by the hotel security. She made it clear that she would not use the same hotel. She did not claim that the staff ever called her an escort, but felt that it was heavily implied due to their actions.
Her husband, Matt Cardona, found the funny side of the incident. He took to Twitter to joke that she did indeed look like an escort in her outfit that night. He also took a dig at the hotel’s poor customer service with a clever reference to Home Alone 2.
