Bianca Belair doesn’t think Street Profits can be heels.
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins turned heel last year, joining Bobby Lashley as “The Pride”. This was the first time the duo were heel in the WWE, but it didn’t last long.
Despite attacking babyfaces like Sheamus and Rey Mysterio, the crowd struggled to boo the charismatic pair. They turned back face just three months later, due to the overwhelmingly positive crowd reaction.
Montez Ford’s wife, Bianca Belair, explained all of this. She and Ford spoke to The Pivot about the failed heel turn for the Street Profits.
Ford claimed that he was a “villain at heart”, before being shut down by Belair.
“I’m a villain at heart.” Montez Ford said, “I’m a villain in real life. She doesn’t believe it, but I truly believe that I am a menace in real life. She doesn’t see it that way. The only reason I see it that way is because I’m very blunt and honest, when it comes to a lot of situations.”
“They just recently… he’s [Montez Ford] in a faction recently that he just joined… they tried to make them heel.” Bianca Belair retorted. They went out there and the crowd said, ‘Ahh! [Cheers]’. He did all this bad stuff and everybody like ‘Ahh! [Cheers]’. They couldn’t get booed so they were like ‘Never mind. You guys can’t be heels'”.
“You’re supposed to be booed,” Bianca Belair continued. “You’re supposed to be hated. You do things to garner that type of reaction. They were doing everything to try to get that reaction, and they weren’t booing them!”
