Eddie Kingston reacts to CM Punk‘s recent comments.
Earlier this week, former WWE Champion CM Punk joined Ariel Helwani of The MMA Hour to discuss his return to WWE and his previous run in All Elite Wrestling. Looking back on his AEW run, Punk opened up about several pivotal moments, including the aftermath of the infamous “Brawl Out,” his backstage altercation with Jack Perry, and his departure from the company shortly after the 2023 All In event. Punk also addressed his relationship with AEW President Tony Khan, noting that he was a “nice guy,” but not a boss.
Following the release of this interview, AEW star Eddie Kingston was asked to share his thoughts on Punk’s comments during a new chat with Adrian Hernandez. While Punk’s words cultivated a buzz online, Eddie Kingston couldn’t care less.
“And? He don’t work for us. I don’t give a f*ck, honestly. He don’t work for AEW, so I don’t care. I’m not even mad. If it sounds like I’m mad, it’s just the way I talk. I don’t care. I know other people do, but I really don’t give a f*** because he doesn’t work for AEW. That’s the way I look at it. If he worked for AEW and did that, then I might feel a certain way for a little bit, and then I would just let it go and go, ‘That’s Phil being Phil. Can’t control him. That’s his thing.’ He ain’t me and I ain’t him. So, I don’t care what he does.”
After exiting AEW in September, CM Punk made his grand return to WWE at the 2023 Survivor Series: WarGames event.
