Mick Foley Is Unsure About Having One Last Wrestling Match

Mick Foley may not be having one last match.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently revealed he planned to have one last death match before retiring for good. Foley’s plan was to use the match as motivation to drop 100lbs of weight, in order to benefit his long-term health.

This came after legends like Ric Flair and Sting ended their careers with one last big match. Foley is as big a star as those two, and one last death match from the hardcore legend would have definitely sold some tickets.

However, it seems that the former WWE Champion is having second thoughts. during a live autograph signing for Highspots this week (via F4WOnline), Mick Foley revealed he hadn’t decided on whether or not have the match yet.

While he noted he was doing it just for fun, he will have an answer on whether he can do it by the beginning of 2025.

“Yeah, but I’d have to lose an extraordinary amount of weight – and it’s not falling off like I hoped it would. So I’m going to have to re-examine where I am at a certain point. It’s not about the money. I want to have a fun match, but I am having trouble.

“I’ve been working out, I feel better, moving better, but it’s not showing up as of yet on the scale. So I’m not sure. I’ll have an answer by the beginning of the year.”

Foley will be nearly 60 at that point, and time is marching on if he wants one last match in the ring.

Matt Cardona Wants To Face Mick Foley In His Last Death Match

If he does go through with the match, Mick Foley already has an opponent lined up to face him.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Matt Cardona said that he wants to be Foley’s final opponent, wanting to make the biggest independent match in history.

“It’s no secret I’ve been politicking for this match,” said Cardona. “Go back to the Hammerstein ballroom a couple years ago, I was wearing a flannel that said ‘F— Mick Foley’. If he wants a death match, it would only be fitting to have one against the death match king. It would be the biggest match in the history of independent pro wrestling.”
