Chad Gable says staying on TV and being consistent is a big part of making sure he’s on the Road to WrestleMania.
Gable recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard. Gable was asked how he can ensure he has a spot at WrestleMania, whether it’s with Otis as Alpha Academy in the tag team ranks, or as a singles competitor.
Gable said it all comes down to consistency and making whatever he does the best it can be.
“Consistency. You touched on that. I think is important. I’ve almost made it a point and a mission for me. Not only for myself, but the group to do that,” Gable explained. “Stay on TV, stay entertaining, and provide whatever they are asking for us. But, not just do it, but over-deliver every time. And I think when you do that, you can’t get ignored. It’s hard to be ignored. And I think we do that. I don’t think, I know we do.”
Gable went on to explain that it doesn’t matter what they get, Alpha Academy makes their on-air work a memorable affair.
“If we get 30 seconds of time on TV in a backstage segment to just talk about something at random, we make it the best we possibly can. And we make it something people remember. And the powers that be noticed that and it paid off last year,” Gable explained. “In a sense that whether it was all the entertainment skits, all the matches, everything we did all year long. And we thought we were going to be left off WrestleMania and last minute, Otis and I got the chance at that Showcase match. And I would call that one of the best matches of the entire weekend.”
Chad Gable said if you’re a talent that doesn’t have an immediate role in a show, you can’t let it get the best of you.
“You have to just keep pressing forward. Stay consistent and deliver. And magic happens man,” Gable pointed out. “We’ve proved it.”
