If people remember, when first Indi Hartwell showed up on WWE NXT, she had a friend and tag team partner by her side. It was none other than Steph De Lander. At that time she went by the ringname Persia Peralta.
Recently, while De Lander has been wrestling in the independent wrestling scene, fans have seemingly been asking about her looks. More specifically, about her piercings on her face and the face tattoos. Steph De Lander took to Twitter to respond to these comments.
““Why do you have so many piercings?” “What’s with all that shit on your face?” “Why would you get a face tattoo?” Cause y’all look like carbon copies of each other & not a single mfer on the planet looks like me. BYE! ???? @JoeMashups,” Steph De Lander tweeted.
Steph De Lander reflected on her experience teaming up with Matt Cardona
While speaking with Wrestlezone’s Bill Pritchard, De Lander opened up about teaming up with the former WWE Intercontinental Champion. She compared it to the iconic pairing of Triple H and Chyna.
“I don’t know because it’s such a unique pairing, if that makes sense,” De Lander said. “I would say, like for me, it feels like closest to Triple H and Chyna. So I would say he’s like the Triple H just because I would probably feel closest to Chyna in the dynamic as well. But yeah, I don’t know.
“There’s no one that I can be like, ‘Oh, it’s this.’ We have such a different dynamic. He’s a wrestler, I’m a wrestler. I’m his manager. We also tag team together. There are so many different iterations of our pairing that it’s not just the standard wrestler and manager or male-female tag team.
Cardona and De Lander have teamed together on a few different occasions as well.
Matt Cardona claims Steph De Lander is his Sherri
Recently, Matt Cardona took to Twitter to reflect on the time he wrestled in Australia. He also mentioned that he needed the former NXT Superstar’s help. He claimed that De Lander was his Sensational Sherri.
“In March, I went to Australia for @WSWWrestlingAUS. Not only did I win the WSW World Championship, but I found @stephdelander. With @ImChelseaGreen back in New York, I needed someone new to watch my back. Chelsea was my Elizabeth, I needed my Sherri. I saw Steph in Australia…6 feet tall, face piercings, jacked, I knew she was the one. I asked her if she wanted to tour the world with me and be my heater. (Of course I called my wife for permission first) She said yes…and we’ve been conquering the entire Independent Wrestling scene ever since! 2023 was one of the best years of my career.
