So far 2023 has been one of the most eventful years in professional wrestling. MJF became the longest-reigning AEW World Champion. CM Punk returned to AEW, then got fired and then shocked the world by signing with WWE. Rob Van Dam made his AEW debut and so did The Nature Boy Ric Flair. The biggest signing for the Jacksonville-based promotion in the year was WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland.
When the Rated R Superstar made his way to All Elite Wrestling, it was to save former TNT Champion Darby Allin against Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, and Luchasaurus. Despite his best friend being a heel in the promotion, Adam Copeland wanted to team up with Cage like old times.
The WWE Hall of Famer has also been vocal about wanting to retire after having one final run with his best friend Christian Cage as his tag team partner. But Cage refused and told the Rated R Superstar to go f*** himself.
Things seemed to have changed in recent times and finally, Cage was ready to team up with his best friend. But this time around, Adam Copeland told Christian Cage to go f*** himself.
Last night on AEW Dynamite, Cage and Copeland had a one-on-one match for the TNT title. Seeing the two compete in the Jacksonville-based promotion, Renee Paquette took to Twitter to cherish the moment.
“Truly insane that we’re watching @RatedRCope vs @Christian4Peeps for the TNT Title. In Canada no less. Legendary,” Renee Paquette tweeted.
The match was everything the fans wanted. When it looked like Copeland was going to win his first title in AEW, to everyone’s shock, Shayna Wayne turned heel and attacked the Rated R Superstar and as a result, cost him the match.
What was your reaction to Christian Cage versus Copeland?
