Best AEW Dynamite Matches Of 2019

AEW Dynamite arrived on the wrestling map to resounding success in 2019. The brainchild of Tony Khan was quickly dubbed the one true alternative to WWE, which hadn’t had a competitor since WCW went out of business in the 2000s.

AEW quickly gained a loyal following among fans with a penchant for the “sports” aspect of sports entertainment. The year 2019 alone saw AEW deliver a plethora of classics to enjoy.

With that said, let’s take a look at five of the best AEW Dynamite matches of 2019:

Lucha Brothers vs. Kenny Omega & Hangman Page (December 18)

The Lucha Brothers arrived in AEW following a highly successful stint in IMPACT Wrestling. Penta and Fenix put the tag division on notice by putting PPV quality matches on a weekly basis. One of their better matches came against Kenny Omega and Hangman Page on the 12th episode of AEW Dynamite.

The non-stop action kept the crowd engaged from bell to bell. This was one of the earliest outings for Omega and Page as a tag team. The pair would soon embark on a collision course against each other, leading to two of the best Full Gear PPV matches for the company.

Kenny Omega & Hangman Page vs. Jon Moxley & PAC (October 16)

Jon Moxley made his Double or Nothing debut at the expense of Kenny Omega. The former Dean Ambrose would make his shocking return at the very first episode of AEW Dynamite. The animosity with Omega would lead to a tag team match two weeks later.

Hangman Page’s storyline with PAC was also tied into the match. This was a good match with some solid exchanges between the two teams. A miscommunication between PAC and Mox would allow Omega and Page to pick up the win.

PAC vs. Hangman Page (November 13)

PAC and Hangman had unfinished business after Full Gear 2019. The pair ran it back on the following Dynamite. This was the best match in their compelling trilogy from the year.

PAC put on some great offense against the equally formidable Hangman. The future All-Atlantic Champion was able to put away his bitter rival with a Brutalizer to cap off their heated feud.

Young Bucks vs. Santana & Ortiz (AEW Dynamite #11)

Young Bucks versus Santana and Ortiz was one of the major tag team rivalries in AEW Dynamite’s earliest days. Santana and Ortiz were no strangers to the business and had arrived from IMPACT Wrestling with a huge target on their back.

The two teams met in a Texas Street Fight on the December 11, 2019, episode of Dynamite. This was an all-out war as both teams resorted to piledrivers as well as foreign objects to outlast one another.

Nick Jackson vs. Rey Fenix (November 20)

A rare singles outing for Nick Jackson, but he absolutely tore the house down against an equally impressive opponent in Re Fenix. The pair had previously met in multi-man action and created magic inside the ring.

This AEW Dynamite match was nothing but spectacular from bell to bell. It was all action from the get-go. Both were given the time to showcase their athleticism and they made the most out it.
