Natalya Praises WWE Legend As The Unsung Hero Of The Women’s Division

Natalya is one of the veterans in the world of Women’s Wrestling. The Queen of Harts recently appreciated a former WWE Superstar for being the backbone of the women’s division. That star is none other than Fit Finlay.

The whole concept of women’s wrestling has evolved over the years. Back in the day, the matches were barely a couple of minutes. It used to be considered the ‘bathroom break’ match. There were no major storylines. Women were not given the spotlight either. Then it slowly evolved to seeing women actually compete. But for the most part, it would be one or two major stars who always picked up the wins and took over the spotlight at all times.

For a long time, fans have garnered more interest in women’s wrestling. According to Natalya seems to be giving most of the credit to WWE legend turned backstage producer Fit Finlay. Nattie took to Twitter to share some kind words for Finlay.

“So much of my career I owe to @ringfox1. Fit helped me through so many highs and lows with patience, kindness and knowledge. An unsung hero for women’s wrestling. Thank you for everything you’ve done to help us move the sport forward, Fit Finlay. Truly grateful for you. Third generation for life!” Natalya tweeted.

The evolution of women’s wrestling since Natalya joined WWE

As mentioned above, women wrestlers were not that well-respected by fans nor by the creative team. But during the birth of the Ruthless Aggression Era, things began to change. Many talents such as Natalya, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, Paige (Saraya), AJ Lee, The Bellas, and many more fought hard to elevate women’s wrestling.

After that, things changed a bit as the female talents were nothing more than eye candies. But nowadays the women are competing all over the world and are treated as equally as the male stars. Especially in WWE, the women have constantly made history. Be it the Women’s Royal Rumble match, the Elimination Chamber Match, they have done it all. The current era of women’s wrestling is truly blessed. The current stars have main evented WrestleMania and have also created history by being the first women to wrestle in the Middle East.

It is to be noted that wrestling veterans such as Alaundra Blaze, Chyna, Trish Stratus, and Lita were some of the few wrestlers who also played a key role in the growth of women’s wrestling.
