Seth Rollins has headlined many WWE pay-per-views, but right now, he’s keen on positioning himself in the main event of WrestleMania.
Backed by his extensive resume of in-ring accomplishments, Seth Rollins has seemingly done it all in WWE. There is one thing he’s still yearning to do, though. During a Q&A session on Lunch with Larry (via the Chicago Bears website), Rollins was asked to reveal a goal that he has yet to fulfill in WWE.
While Rollins has technically main-evented WrestleMania via his mid-match Money in the Bank cash-in at WrestleMania 31, he doesn’t believe that qualifies.
“I’d like to headline WrestleMania. I know I had the cash-in at WrestleMania 31, but that didn’t count as a main event to me. I want to go in as a headliner,” Rollins clarified.
Heading into WrestleMania 31, Brock Lesnar was slated to defend the WWE Championship against Roman Reigns. After both men battled to a stalemate, Rollins seized the opportunity to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, elevating the singles match to a triple threat.
Toward the end of the match, Lesnar attempted to deliver an F5 to Rollins. Lesnar’s plan was then foiled as he received a spear from Reigns. With Lesnar now out of the equation, Rollins surprised Reigns, nailing him with a Curb Stomp to score a pinfall. With this victory, WWE crowned Rollins as the new WWE Champion. This scene would later be touted as “The Heist of the Century.”
Seth Rollins Wants To Be The Marquee
During a recent interview with CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri, Rollins reiterated his desire to be the top guy in WWE.
“I’m always, always wanting to be the guy, always wanting to be the marquee. That’s where I want to be,” Rollins said. “If I feel like I’m not there, I’m gonna be hustling. I’m like Michael Jordan. I’m gonna find something. Even if there’s nothing, even if everything’s coming and cruising perfect, I’m gonna go out and find something to piss me off. I’m gonna find something that I can sink my teeth into. I’m going to make an enemy out of somebody so that I got something to work for because that’s just how I operate. That’s how I flow. I don’t know how to do it any other way.
