A new report indicates that WWE RAW and WWE NXT will be moving away from the USA Network next year.
Earlier today, WWE announced that its SmackDown product will return to the USA Network next year as an expansion of its long-standing relationship with NBCUniversal. As SmackDown comes aboard in October 2024, though, WWE noted that its Raw and NXT television programming will broadcast on the USA Network through September 2024.
As their residencies on the USA Network are seemingly coming to an end next year, many pundits have raised questions about the future of Raw and NXT. The new SmackDown deal is closed, but RAW and NXT are still in the negotiation phase.
While the uncertainties linger, The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that the WWE Raw product is “extremely active” on the market right now, attracting the attention of various streaming services, traditional linear networks, and “unexpected players.” These identity of these reported “unexpected players” remain unknown as this time.
WWE Raw began airing on the USA Network upon its inception in 1993, before moving to TNN (Spike TV) in 2000. After a five-year stint on TNN, Raw returned to the USA Network in 2005, where it has resided ever since (with a few one-off episode exceptions).
WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
