WWE Hall of Famer X-Pac (also known as Sean Waltman) recently opened up about his biggest moment in professional wrestling. The NWO member mentioned that the moment is none other than his match against the late Razor Ramon.
The WWE Hall of Famer has had several monikers throughout his career in the Stamford-based promotion. He went by the name The 1-2-3 Kid, Sean Waltman, and of course X-Pac, and several others including the Cannonball Kid and Kamikaze Kid. His moniker was eventually shortened to ‘The Kid’ ahead of one of his most memorable moments.
His third match on RAW was against one of his best friends, the late Razor Ramon. He put on an impressive battle and as a result, he picked up the win and the name 1-2-3 Kid.
During the latest episode of Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, X-Pac was a special guest. On the episode, the wrestling veteran revealed that his debut match was the moment that made his entire career.
“It’s beyond… then there’s no close second moment that was as important as that moment was in my career. Really, in my life too. That was so huge. That was life-changing. My trajectory of my life changed because of that moment. It was huge. It had so much impact. It’s just… It was a unique way of introducing somebody besides just the, ‘hey let’s do six weeks of vignettes…’ and some squash matches where he comes out beats a guy,” X-Pac said.
He also shared that his debut was something totally different from the usual formula of having multiple vignettes about the debuting talent. He was also glad that he got to showcase what he is capable of by having a full-fledged match rather than a series of squash matches.
Waltman said that this wasn’t exactly his favorite match from an in-ring standpoint, but there’s no denying how big the moment itself was.
