Nick Khan comments on CM Punk.
The transaction agreement between WWE and Endeavor became official on September 12. In the process, WWE and UFC merged to form TKO, a new publicly traded company. CM Punk had a remarkable WWE career, but he had an unsuccessful run in the UFC.
Marc Raimondi of ESPN interviewed WWE President Nick Khan about the merger. CM Punk’s newfound free agency remains a hot topic, and Raimondi asked Khan whether WWE would be interested in bringing him back.
“Listen, we only have respect for Phil,” Nick Khan said. “We appreciate his run here. We appreciate what he did and what he tried to do with the UFC. Not many people can actually get in there and do what he did. So, when we have respect for Phil, we wish him nothing but the best.”
AEW Recently Terminate CM Punk’s Contract
Former WWE Champion CM Punk, who walked out of WWE in 2014, returned to wrestling in 2021, when he signed with AEW. He went on to have a turbulent run with the company that ended on September 2. The company terminated his contract following an investigation into a backstage incident at AEW All In.
