Gunther has an open mind when it comes to doing comedy in his WWE future.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther was a recent guest on Notsam Wrestling. When asked if he could see the possibility of doing a Jackass-style comedy match in the future, Gunther said there’s a time and place for almost everything in wrestling.
“We’ll see what the future brings,” Gunther said. “I had a few awkward occasions where I did something in my career that was a little bit less serious competitive wrestling stuff, and it usually worked really well. I think a good example like if done the right way, there’s a place and time for almost everything in wrestling.
“You look at the DDT in Japan promotion as a good example. They have all the goofy stuff happening through their show. And then, to finish off the show is a super serious world championship match, and everybody treats it that way. Because it’s just different styles, and it’s different forms of entertainment.”
