Tuesday was a rough night for Dana Brooke.
On last night’s edition of WWE NXT, Dana Brooke went one-on-one with former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Cora Jade. Heading into the match, Brooke was designated as the babyface, while Jade played the heel. Midway through the match, though, the tide took an unintentional turn.
As Brooke attempted a handspring, her knee appeared to buckle, causing medical staff to rush down and check on her. Medical then began to stretcher Brooke to the back, but after multiple taunts and screams from Cora Jade, Brooke fought back. Unfortunately, Brooke’s comeback story didn’t go quite as expected, as the Florida crowd started to boo her, and cheer for Jade. Toward the conclusion of the contest, Jade locked Brooke into a single-leg crab. As Brooke tried to suppress the urge to submit, the live audience made their wishes very clear, shouting “Tap! Tap! Tap!” in unison.
Though Brooke did not tap, the referee stopped the match and awarded the victory to Cora Jade. Following her match last night, Dana Brooke has now addressed the criticism she received from fans.
“Alright I get it, y’all think I suck…. Got it, NOTED, Awesome….. &…..” she tweeted.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo commented on Brooke’s post, issuing her some positive energy. “I don’t. I know you work your ARSE Off!!!” he wrote, before following up with a second tweet:
“Don’t listen to these A** Clowns. They have no idea what you’re up against. Not even knowing you I can tell that you’re one of those special people who just try to be the BEST You can be Every Day. There’s only ONE Person you have to make Proud—and you are doing that. God Bless.”
