Shawn Michaels comments on the anniversary of his WWE debut.
In a tweet on June 18, WWE NXT’s Twitter account noted that Michaels made his debut 35 years ago to the day. Michaels responded by stating that it’s been quite a ride. He thanked WWE for giving him the opportunity of a lifetime. Michaels also expressed his gratitude to the WWE Universe for their support.
Michaels, a four-time world champion and two-time Royal Rumble winner, retired from in-ring competition in 2010, though he returned to action in a one-off match in 2018. In recent years, he has heavily been involved with NXT. Michaels currently works as the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, and he oversees the NXT brand.
