Following her attack on Becky Lynch last week, Trish Stratus returned to WWE RAW to explain why she attacked Lynch, and what her future holds.
In the ring tonight, Stratus reflected on how when she started in WWE, women’s wrestling was a joke, and that she singlehandedly turned it into what it is today. While others may point to superstars like Lita, Stratus said she had nothing to do with it, and that without her there would have been no women in the main event of WrestleMania.
Stratus went on to say that you wouldn’t know any of this if you listened to Becky Lynch, who claims the “Four Horseladies” are the real innovators for women wrestling. When she met Lynch, Stratus said, not once did “The Man” thank her for opening the door, and that she wouldn’t let it slide anymore.
After being embarrassed by dancing around at WrestleMania, Stratus said she had to take Lita out to save her the embarrassment, and make it clear that it was no one but Stratus who screwed Lynch out of her belts. She then told Lynch she wasn’t going to let anyone rewrite history, and was not anyone’s sidekick or fantasy. Instead, she would make sure no one forgets who she is.
