Vince McMahon reimburses WWE.
Per a new SEC filing, McMahon paid WWE $17.5 million for costs related to the WWE board’s investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
On June 15, the Wall Street Journal reported that the WWE Board of Directions was investigating McMahon for alleged sexual misconduct and hush money. An update noted that McMahon reportedly agreed to pay $12 million to four women to “suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity.”
McMahon announced his retirement on July 22, and he later returned to WWE on January 6. He was voted the Executive Chairman of the Board on January 10. Upon his return, McMahon made it clear that he would be involved with negotiating media rights deals and exploring a potential sale.
The WWE board announced that the investigation into McMahon was complete in November 2022.
