ROH Jay Briscoe Celebration Of Life Spoilers (Taped On 1/18)

After the January 18 taping of AEW Rampage, Ring of Honor held a special taping for the Jay Briscoe Celebration of Life. Briscoe, an ROH Hall of Famer and one-half of the reigning ROH World Tag Team Champions, lost his life in a fatal car accident on January 17.

The show was held at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, CA. At the taping, ROH owner Tony Khan noted that it was only the first tribute show for Briscoe. He also stated that the Jay Briscoe Celebration of Life will be posted on ROH’s YouTube channel for free, but it’s currently unclear when the show will air.

  • Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman shared their thoughts on Jay Briscoe and emphasized that he was a family man. They said that Jay would have wanted the show to go on, and the card was in his honor.
  • ROH owner Tony Khan thanked the fans for being there to honor Briscoe’s life and legacy.
  • ROH Pure Championship: Wheeler Yuta (c) defeated Hagane Shinno
  • Adam Cole came out and delivered a heartfelt message about his friendship with Briscoe and the way Jay impacted his career. He praised Jay as a person and also said that everylone loves the Briscoe family.
  • Marina Shafir defeated Mighty Myra
  • Eddie Kingston defeated QT Marshall
  • ROH Women’s World Championship: Athena (c) def. Madison Rayne (with Skye Blue)
    • Athena attacked Blue and hit her with the title after the match.
  • Juice Robinson defeated Brandon Cutler
  • Yuka Sakazaki defeated Sandra Moone
  • ROH World Championship: Claudio Castagnoli (c) defeated Christopher Daniels
