On Wednesday night, Matt and Night Jackson will team up with Kenny Omega to face Death Triangle in the finale of the best-of-seven series for the AEW World Trios Championship. The series is tied after six hard-fought matches, so the stakes will be high when the trios collide in an Escalera De La Muerte. Quite fittingly, the seventh match will be held at The Forum, the former home of the Los Angeles Lakers. The venue has hosted plenty of NBA playoff series, and the Jacksons look forward to continuing that legacy.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the Young Bucks discussed the match, and Matt cited the legendary history of The Forum. He noted that he watched many Lakers games there when he was a kid, so competing in such a major match will be surreal.
“Game Seven at The Forum, it doesn’t get much bigger,” Matt Jackson said. “Historically, there have been many Game 7s played here, so it’s fun that we get to add to that history. I watched so many Lakers games there when I was a kid, so it’s a little surreal every time we get to go there and roam the halls where all the greats used to walk.”
