WWE‘s upcoming event in India has reportedly been postponed.
As previously reported, WWE was planning on running a major show in Hyperabad, India, on January 18, 2023. The event would be part of the company’s deal with Sony Six; likewise, WWE previously held the Superstar Spectacle event, in conjunction with India’s Republic Day, at the ThunderDome in January 2021.
WrestleVotes first reported that the January event was postponed for “unspecified reasons”. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the show has been postponed. He noted that Sony Six, WWE’s broadcast partner in India, opted to delay the live event due to its merger with Zee. The merger is expected to “go through” in April, so the event would likely take place after that point.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
